Players: 2–4 (or more if you’ve got the decks) Cards Each: 7–20
Top Raver Mode is the original Boom Ravers battle — simple, fast-paced and full of energy.
Setup
Shuffle and deal the cards face-down so everyone has an equal stack.
Once the cards are dealt you may look at them but have a fixed hand order
the player to the dealer’s left starts.
Special Cards (Optional)
Before the game begins, you can decide to include or remove special cards with abilities (like Jeremy Jumbles or CUTE cards).
Some symbols hint at future mechanics ;)
How to Play
The starting player chooses a category (Pink Style or Blue Skill) on their top card — for example, Outfit Charge 90.
Everyone announces their value in that same category.
The highest number wins the round and takes all cards played, adding them to the back of their pile.
The winner picks the next category.
(You can activate the Defend Rule if you want extra chaos — see below.)
*Boom Score isn’t used in this mode but you can if you want more chaos!!
*see battle mode below for details on boom score
Tie Breakers
If stats tie → call the opposite-colour stat.
If it’s still a tie → place those cards in the centre as the Boom Pile.
The next round’s winner scoops everything in the middle.
Winning the Game
Play continues until one player holds every card, or set a time or round limit and count who’s got the most.
Can use the Boom Score to end the game as well. Winner takes all scenario.
Optional: Defend Rule
Best for 2-player matches.
If attacked and your first stat is lower, you can Defend using the other colour stat.
Win: take 2 cards.
Lose: give 2 cards to the winner.
Non-defenders who lost put their cards in the Boom Pile, and the Defend winner takes the lot.
If the Defend score ties, all cards from that round go into the Boom Pile.
Battle Mode
Players: 2–8 Deck Size: 32+ cards
Battle Mode is the advanced version of Boom Ravers — more tactical, more chaotic, and perfect for larger groups.
Setup
Each player gets 10 or more cards (around 3 players per deck).
Choose 4 cards face-up for your Battle Deck.
Special cards can not be in the active Battle Deck at the start.
The rest form your draw pile.
Any leftovers go into the Boom Pile in the centre — the winner of Round 1 collects them.
Special Cards (CUTE, Jeremy Jumbles, etc.) sit above your Battle Deck and activate their abilities when played.
How to Play
The player left of the dealer starts.
Choose one Card in your Battle Deck to attack and call a stat (Pink or Blue).
Other players either accept defeat or Defend if their stat is lower.
Losing cards go into the Boom Pile until a winner is decided.
The winner takes all cards and puts them under their pile (including the attacking card).
Everyone then draws one new card from their pile to replace it.
The turn is then moved to the player to the left unless special cards or abilities grant extra turns or miss a go. etc
Players may rearrange their Battle Deck (choose from their pile) once every 3 full turns.
Win Condition
Take everyone’s cards to win the game.
If your last card is a Special or non-battle card, you lose.
Defend Rule
If your stat is lower, you can Defend:
Win: Take all cards from the round (including Boom Pile).
Lose: Give 2 cards to the winner.
Tie: All cards go into the Boom Pile.
If the highest card wasn’t the attacker, the Defend applies to whoever had the top stat.
Boom Score Attack
Any card can Boom Score if you hold 4 of the same Category (DJ, MC, Performer, Raver).
Boom Cards and Super Boom Cards can Boom Score attack anytime.
Win: Take all players’ cards (they choose 1 card. to keep , each). Active Specials burn.
Lose: Keep only one BOTTOM card of your pile to play with.
If Boom Scores tie, all tied players put every card except one BOTTOM card into the Boom Pile.
